Your way

It is better to fail in originality than to succeed in imitation.

  1. ” Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old books, new films, old films, music, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, trees, street signs and clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Steal from things that speak directly to your soul. Your work will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable. And don’t conceal your thievery. “It’s not where you take something from–it’s where you take them to.””–I wish I knew who the quote was from but I have above my desk. It is the creed I live by. >KB

    • This is true, in a figurative sense, meaning that we shouldn’t go so far as to copy the works of others to the point of plagiarism. I believe the meaning to this refers to using favorite inspirational sources to find your own unique style. But I am sure you already know that. It is a great creed to live by.
