Life had become … bearable, since she met Rayne. Now, most of her dreams of the perfect man sat next to her, on a park bench under an umbrella that she held as the chilled air dripped off March dewdrops. There were days, though, when she wondered if she would wake up in a sweat, heart racing through a reality of delusional fantasy. Day after day, there he would be, like turning a page to a new mystery. One more day, that’s all she asks … every day. What could be on the next page? It couldn’t be better than this day, she would tell herself. Then the night would turn to the following day, and her heart would grant her another smile … yet again.
